Improve Your Life with Free to be You Therapies

Rebuilding Participation in Life

Restorative Occupational Therapy is not simply about recovering lost abilities — it is about helping individuals reconnect with the routines, environments, and roles that give life meaning.

Through personalized, evidence-based rehabilitation, Free to Be You supports individuals in restoring function, building resilience, and returning to the activities that matter most.

To live fully.
To move freely.
To participate in life again.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Rehabilitation

Traumatic brain injuries can significantly alter how individuals experience their daily lives, affecting physical coordination, cognition, emotional regulation, and routine participation.

Occupational therapy supports recovery by addressing the functional impact of these changes. Rehabilitation focuses on restoring the skills necessary for daily living, work participation, and community engagement.

TBI-focused therapy may address:

  • Cognitive processing and executive function
  • Motor coordination and balance
  • Sensory regulation
  • Fatigue management
  • Emotional adjustment
  • Reintegration into work and daily routines

With specialized experience in neurological rehabilitation, therapy is designed to support both the physical and cognitive aspects of recovery while helping individuals rebuild confidence and independence.

Evidence-Based Rehabilitation for Daily Life

Restorative Occupational Therapy focuses on helping individuals regain the ability to participate fully in the activities that shape their everyday lives. Whether recovering from injury, neurological changes, traumatic events, or long-term physical strain, occupational therapy supports the restoration of independence, function, and confidence.

At Free to Be You, treatment is grounded in evidence-based rehabilitation principles that address the physical, cognitive, and environmental factors that influence how individuals move, think, and engage in daily routines. Care plans are individualized and designed to restore meaningful participation in the roles that matter most — at home, at work, and within the community.

Specialized training in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) rehabilitation and Ergonomics allows us to support individuals whose daily lives have been altered by trauma, neurological injury, chronic pain, or environmental strain.

Our goal is to move beyond symptom management to help clients rebuild sustainable routines, improve functional capacity, and regain control of their daily lives.

Our geriatric occupational therapy program helps seniors maintain their independence and quality of life. We focus on developing skills necessary for activities of daily living, fall prevention, and cognitive skills.

Kinesio Taping Therapy

Kinesio Taping is a therapeutic technique used to support muscle function, improve circulation, reduce pain, and facilitate movement patterns. This specialized taping method can assist with:

  • Muscle activation
  • Joint stabilization
  • Lymphatic support
  • Neuromuscular re-education
  • Pain reduction

Taping techniques are customized to each individual’s condition and are often integrated into broader rehabilitation plans to support functional movement and recovery.

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

Activities of Daily Living represent the essential self-care tasks required for independence and personal well-being. Occupational therapy helps individuals regain or adapt these skills following injury, illness, or neurological change.

ADL training may include support for:

  • Dressing
  • Grooming and hygiene
  • Bathing
  • Feeding
  • Functional mobility
  • Personal care routines

Therapy focuses on restoring independence while introducing adaptive techniques and tools when needed to support safe, efficient participation.

Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs)

Instrumental Activities of Daily Living are the more complex tasks required for independent living and community participation. When injury, illness, or cognitive change disrupts these routines, occupational therapy can help individuals rebuild structure and functional capacity.

IADL training may include support with:

  • Meal preparation
  • Household management
  • Community mobility
  • Work and productivity routines

Rehabilitation focuses on restoring confidence and building sustainable strategies that allow individuals to maintain independence in their daily environments.

Home Safety Assessments

The home environment plays a critical role in recovery and long-term independence. A home safety assessment evaluates how physical spaces support — or hinder — safe and effective daily functioning.

These assessments identify environmental risks and recommend practical modifications that can improve accessibility, mobility, and safety. This may include recommendations for adaptive equipment, mobility supports, layout changes, or environmental adjustments to reduce fall risk and improve functional movement throughout the home.

Home safety assessments are particularly valuable for individuals recovering from injury, neurological conditions, surgery, or age-related changes in mobility.
